01 · The account
An account you did not want
Email, password, verification code, terms you did not read. All of it before you can write down a $4 coffee. The account exists so the company can hold your data, not so you can find it.
No account · No cloud · No tracking
An expense tracker for freelancers that never asks you to sign in. Business and personal in one ledger, and a clean export when your accountant asks.

Coffret is not on the stores yet. It works offline from the moment you install it, on iOS 16 and Android 10 or later.

01 · The account
Email, password, verification code, terms you did not read. All of it before you can write down a $4 coffee. The account exists so the company can hold your data, not so you can find it.
02 · The subscription
Nine dollars a month, forever, for arithmetic your phone can do offline. Stop paying and the history is still theirs — locked behind an export button that only works while you are current.
03 · The server
Bank credentials handed to an aggregator, spending patterns scored by an analytics SDK, and a breach notification you read about later. Every client you invoice is on that server too.
What it does
28.00 + 16.50
$44.50
Entry
The keypad opens with the amount field focused and a calculator built in, so you can total a split receipt without leaving the sheet. Categories are ordered by what you actually used in the last sixty days. Wallet and date default to last time and today.

Wed 12 Aug+$3,127.00
Tue 11 Aug−$172.39
Two ledgers
Every transaction is flagged business or personal, and the filter at the top of every screen reshapes the whole app. In personal mode the tax fields are not greyed out — they are gone. Groceries and a client invoice can sit in the same list without the same rules.
Budgets
Each budget shows what you have spent, what is projected by the end of the period at your current rate, and how many days are left. The alert comes at eighty percent, not after.

Tax set-aside
Set a percentage and every payment you log adds to the reserve. You see what should be held back and what actually is, so the quarterly bill is a transfer rather than a shock.

Receipts
Snap the receipt at the counter and it is attached to the transaction, compressed and stored on the device. It travels with the record into the backup and into the accountant bundle.

Export
The accountant bundle is a zip: business transactions as CSV, a deductible summary grouped by category, mileage, a summary PDF, and every receipt named by date and amount.

Coffret has no backend to breach, no account to leak, and no analytics to opt out of. The release build makes no network calls at all — you can put the phone in airplane mode permanently and lose nothing.
The database is SQLCipher-encrypted. The key is generated on the phone and held in the Keychain or Keystore, excluded from cloud keychain backups.
No sync, no remote config, no crash uploads, no ad SDK. The app ships without the permissions it would need to send anything anywhere.
Nobody counts your screens or scores your spending. We learn what to build from what people write to us, which is slower and fine.
One documented file, in a format we publish. Keep it where you like, restore it on either platform, read it with a text editor if you want to.
Built for freelancers
Most trackers stop at categories. Freelance money has a second layer: which client the expense belongs to, how much of it is deductible, and what the quarter owes.

Pricing
There is no subscription because there is nothing to run. No servers, no seats, no usage tier. You pay for the app, you own the app, and your records keep working whether or not we ship another version.
One purchase
Both platforms, all future 1.x updates. No subscription, ever.

Coffret is not on the stores yet. It works offline from the moment you install it, on iOS 16 and Android 10 or later.
The price is whatever your App Store or Google Play shows at the time of purchase.
FAQ
Whatever is in your last backup file is what you get back. Coffret writes a single .expbak file you can keep in iCloud Drive, Dropbox, a laptop folder, or all three. Restoring on a new phone — including a phone on the other platform — reads that file and rebuilds the database. If you have no backup, the data is gone. That is the honest trade for having no server, and it is why the app nags you after twenty transactions and every thirty days without one.
